Midnight At The Masquerade, an online (Zoom) murder mystery fundraiser.
Enter the Billionaires’ Club Annual Masquerade Ball. The rustle of silks and feathers under muted conversation was probably the last thing heard by the tragically and unexpectedly deceased. With a mystery under each feathery façade, unmasking the killer may be quite a challenge. It’s up to you to determine which partygoer is guilty, bring this criminal to justice, and save the party!
This is not just a game. It is a chance to have fun with other people, use your brain, and support a good cause at the same time. You will join the ball and help get this soiree back on track by trading clues with other guests, gathering information, and solving the crime before the masked menace gets away. If you enjoy puzzles, group games, or mystery stories, this event may be a great fit for you.
Because this is online, you can take part from home. That can make it easier for people who do not want to travel, have trouble getting out at night, or just prefer a quiet evening in. You only need a computer and internet access. If you are new to Zoom, it can help to test your audio and video ahead of time. Make sure your device is charged, your speakers or headphones work, and your login is ready before the event starts. A few minutes of planning can help the night go more smoothly.
If you’re looking for an excuse to dress up, then go for it! Evening wear, ball gowns, Venetian masks, suits, and tuxes are welcome at this high-class night of masks and murder. Or, you can come in your pajamas. You won’t be on camera unless you sign up for a VIP package.
That means you can choose the level of participation that feels right for you. If you like to be seen and enjoy the theme, dress up and lean into the fun. If you want to stay comfortable and low-key, that is fine too. For some people, knowing they will not be on camera lowers stress and makes it easier to join in. If you do choose the VIP option, plan your outfit ahead of time so you are not rushed right before the event.

General Admission:
Minimum Donation of $50 per computer (105 available)
- Be a detective and solve the mystery
This is the most direct way to take part. General Admission gives you access to the game and lets you join in the search for clues. If you are planning to participate with someone else in your home, remember that the ticket is listed per computer. That can help you decide how many computers you need for your group.
Night-In Package:
Minimum Donation of $150 per computer (40 available)
- Be a detective and solve the mystery
- Bottle of wine
- Desert for two
This package adds a little extra comfort to the evening. It is a good choice if you want the fun of the event plus a ready-made night in. The wine and dessert for two make it feel more like a special date night or a small celebration at home. If you are hosting a friend or a partner, think about where you will sit, whether you want snacks nearby, and whether you need a quiet space so you can hear the clues.
VIP Package:
Minimum Donation of $250 per computer (5 available)
- One person will play a suspect in the murder mystery! No acting experience needed. The script will be provided. Plan to dress up.
- Bottle of wine
- Desert for two
The VIP package is for people who want a bigger part in the story. You do not need acting experience. The script will be provided. That can make it easier for people who are nervous about speaking in front of others. Still, it helps to read through the script early, practice a few lines, and make sure you know when you need to speak. Since you will be playing a suspect, the event asks you to plan to dress up. This can make the role feel more real and more fun.
No matter which package you choose, it can help to prepare a few things before the event starts:
- Charge your laptop, tablet, or phone.
- Check your internet connection.
- Have your Zoom link ready.
- Keep paper and a pen nearby for clues.
- Set out any food or drink before the game begins.
- Find a place with enough light so you can see and be seen if needed.
